Cinema Themed Man-Cave

One of our 2016 projects began as a completely bare basement. We blogged about it here. A blank slate slowly being formed, framed, and filled in. In collaboration with Southern Cinema Design and our homeowner's collection of movie memorabilia, the project has gone from a blank slate to a space brimming with originality and style. In our homeowner Bill's own words, "this was my once in a lifetime project."

Bill explains more about his ideas at the beginning of the project: "My wife and I had just moved into our new home in Cumming with an unfinished basement. We are retired and want some space to entertain and display some of my movie props and posters."

The long room is divided into sections for entertainment, conversation, and party time! If you look closely you can see that some guests are already enjoying themselves.

"My theater was something I wanted for a long time. This was my once a lifetime project, so I wanted the best people I could find. My trust was rewarded tenfold; Ben helped me to fit my ideas in the space I had to work with." The completed theater has a dizzying display of movie related costumes, life-size models, movie posters, and state-of-the-art screen & seating for a true cinema experience.

The project also included a full bathroom and hallway that did not get left out of the design concept. From the shower curtain to the collection of fishing poles in the hallway, there's no doubt that this is a place to have fun, relax, and escape from reality for a time.

"Ben and his people let me know what was going on every day they were here. His crew always cleaned up before they left. In other words they were very professional. We had some delays but in the end we finished on time and that’s saying something.

Let's just say I’m very proud of my theater, game room, & bar. All the guests I’ve entertained have been very impressed with how it came out."

Thanks Bill & Kathy for your kind words! From a blank slate to a man-cave with some serious style, we enjoyed working with our homeowners to create this one-of-a-kind project. In fact, it's one of our hallmarks -- creative and customized solutions for your home, everyday.
