As the lyrics of the song suggest, there is no place like home for the holidays. The Kitchen family moved to their new home in Forsyth County earlier this year, and has experienced the ups and downs that everybody goes through after a major project. Loving and living in their home that started off with a drive through a mountain town in North Carolina.

After a project is finished, and move in-date is scheduled, sometimes our homeowners like to live in their space before they finalize their decorating and let their remodeled areas breathe, so to speak. Often, they are gracious to let us back in, well after the project is completed, to let us photograph their spaces — living, breathing, and come to life — their vision made into REALITY.

Hurricane Florence, although downgraded from the projected category five, hit North Carolina coast and slowly ground it’s way inland, dumping 8 trillion gallons of rain. Those in its path had to decide: to evacuate or stay.

It is not often that in the suburban sprawl of Atlanta you find a house that seems unique. Each style or fad that passed through the city left its mark, from the Arts and Crafts bungalows from the early 20th century, to the low slung houses from the 60's and 70's to the split-level craze of the 90's. This house, however, defies stereotyping.

Beyond serving our clients to the best of our ability, Benjamin Andrew Construction also has a passion for passing the torch to the next generation. This company is built on a foundation of Ben's father and grandfather -- three generations of men who worked hard in their trades.

Our owners, Ben & Stephanie, recently finished their custom new home in Cumming, GA, and if you followed their journey, you'll know they started with inspiration in the form of the beautiful stone cottage in Transylvania County, NC. They even had the opportunity to tour the interior of the home, thanks to the gracious homeowners. One of the interior features that Ben knew he wanted to bring to their Cumming, GA home was the three piece stone fireplace.

Long term projects like new homes have their pacing -- certain parts of the project appear to go quickly, certain parts seem to take longer. External forces like permits, inspections, and the weather can each have their own role in slowing or speeding a job up. As the end of a project draws to a close, time seems to hit fast forward. There's never enough time, seemingly, but so much is being accomplished each day!
